Ramadan Program:

ILC+ provides a place for youth and their families to spend Ramadan. Children are taught life skills by managing iftaars, hosting their parents, and setting up for Taraweeh prayers. Children who have memorized the Quran (hafiz), lead the Taraweeh prayer, alongside famous Qaris/Imams. Seeing their peers take on such leadership roles gives children relatable role models they can aspire to.

This year, girls and boys age 13-18 will choose a topic, research it, and prepare 5-7 minutes talk, also known as a kathara, to deliver between the Taraweeh prayers to the community. This will help develop future leaders in our community, teach them public speaking skills, promote gender-equality, research, and keep children engaged. All of the Ramadan programs and activities are completely free to all.

We sincerely hope you and your loved ones are safe and in good health, insha-Allah! ILC follows the Islamic Calendar adopted by both ISNA and the Fiqh Council of North America. Accordingly, the first day of Ramadān (fasting) will be on Monday March 11, 2024 insha-Allah. Accordingly, the first Taraweeh prayer at ILC will be on Sunday March 10 (8:40 PM), insha-Allah. With utmost joy and hope, we welcome Ramadan with all its blessings – Ramadan Mubarak to everyone! We wish you and your family a safe, blessed, prosperous, and peaceful Ramadan – insha-Allah.
